Prices of rice and sprats reduced

Prices of eight types of rice and sprats have been reduced with effect from midnight today (28).

 


The order had been made by Industry and Commerce Minister Rishad Bathiudeen, according to the instructions given by President Maithreepala Sirisena, said President of Lanka Sathosa T.M.K.B. Tennakoon.

 


He made this statement at a media briefing held at Sathosa Headquarters today.

 


Accordingly the consumers can buy the commodities under the newly- revised prices from Lanka Sathosa outlets island-wide.

 


White Nadu Rs.74 per kilo
White Kekulu Rs.65 per kilo
White Samba Rs.84 per kilo
Red Kekulu Rs.75 per kilo
Red Nadu Rs.80 per Kilo
White Kekulu Samba Rs.90 per kilo
Red Kekulu Samba Rs.88 per kilo
Broken rice (imported) Rs. 60per kilo
Dry sprats (imported) Rs525 per kilo

 

In addition to this price revision, consumers can purchase food and other consumer goods at a lower rate from 370 outlets of Sathosa island-wide.
