
The Urban Development Authority (UDA) said that 4000 houses will be vested in the public by the end of December under “Urban resurgence program”.
The houses will be given to the public living in the vicinity of Baira lake, the Director General of the Authority, Sumedha Ratnayake said.
In addition, 5000 more houses will be constructed next year, the Director General further said.
A total of Rs. 280 billion has been estimated for the entire project.
“There are plans to construct t walking paths alongside Beira Lake in order to increase the attractiveness of the city.Therefore houses will be provided to those who lose their houses due to the construction of walking paths,” the Director General added.
