A youth was knocked down on the pedestrian crossing by a private bus today (01) in,Abhayapura , Uppuveli.
He succumbed to his injuries while being admitted to the hospital, it is reported.
The deceased was identified as 25-year-old;a resident of Trincomalee.
The driver of the bus was arrested by the Uppuveli Police.
Further investigations into the incident are being carried out by the police.
