
Indian Customs sleuths allegedly took a passenger from Sri Lanka into custody at the airport in Visakhapatnam on charges of attempting to smuggle in cocaine by swallowing cocaine packets.
The passenger alighted from the Colombo-Vizag flight at 9:30 am.
The Times of India reported that officials of the customs department were tight-lipped on the incident, saying they would reveal information at a later stage.
According to sources the passenger was carrying cocaine inside his stomach and officials intercepted him after he was moving suspiciously, it said.
