
The Campaign for Free and Fair Elections (CaFFE) stated that it is the responsibility of appointed Provincial Councilors and Governors to ensure that public property is not misused by state officials.
Issuing a press release today, Executive Director of the local election watchdog Keerthi Tennakoon stated that Govenors of provincial councils should play a major role in ensuring that public assets are not abused by politicians.
“Governors should take stern action against any Provincial Councilors or politicians who abuse state vehicles or any other state owned services for their personal purposes”
Keerthi Tennakoon further stated that legal action should be sought against any facilitators or participants of such crimes.
