
The individual who attempted to forcibly enter the premises of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa’s residence was confirmed to be a patient suffering fom a mental illness.
The Kurunduwatte Police today (06) informed Colombo Additional Magistrate Chanima Wijeybandara that the youth is a patient under medical treatment.
The youth was arrested by security personnel and handed over to police on October 21 for trespassing Former President’s residence in Colombo.
Police said that the man in question, a resident of Balangoda, was reportedly arrested with a knife in his possession.
He was produced before the Colombo Fort Magistrate on September 16 .
Colombo Fort Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne ordered him remanded till October 6.
