JO protests in Tangalle despite court ban

A protest march and a seminar were organized by the Joint Opposition (JO) in Tangalle town today (15).
The Seminar was held at Tangalle town hall under the theme “Let’s protect national resources-Stop political haunting”, Ada Derana reporter said.
Parliamentarians representing the JO including Dullas Alahapperuma, Gamini Lokuge, Johnston Fernando, Wimal Weerawansa and Dilum Amunugama, participated in the seminar and the protest.
However,the Tangalle Magistrate yesterday(14) issued a court order banning the protest which is scheduled to be held today.
The Tangalle Police had obtained the court order stating that the protest will affect the public.
