Minister of National Co-existence, Dialogue and Official languages Mano Ganesan stated that all preparations will be made to hold the Local Government elections on January 27, 2018.
He stated that this decision was arrived at following a party leaders meeting that was held in the presence of Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe last night (24).
The meeting was attended by Minister of City planning and Water supply Rauff Hakeem, Leader of the JVP Anura Kumara Dissanayake, Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation Nimal Siripala de Silva, leader of the Eelam People’s Democratic Douglas Devananda, Minister of Fisheries and Aquatic Resource Development Mahinda Amaraweera, Minister of Hill Country New Villages, Infrastructure and Community Development Palany Thigambaran, and Minister of Agriculture Duminda Dissanayake.
