
Pakistani media outlets reveal that a two-member security detail representing the SLC will arrive in Pakistan today (25), to review the security measures taken by Pakistani officials for the third T20 between Sri Lanka and Pakistan that is to be played on October 29, in Lahore.
According to Geo News Pakistan, security arrangements are currently being made at the Gaddafi stadium that is to host the final T20 between Sri Lanka and Pakistan. After successfully hosting the three-match Independence Cup series between Pakistan and the World-XI in September, the PCB are keen to bring back the Sri Lankan team for the first time following the 2009 attack.
“There is nothing much to be done as the entire stadium is in perfect condition as few weeks ago we organised the World XI series”, a PCB spokesman said while talking to APP Tuesday (24).
Geo News, Pakistan reports that according to the security plan, the entire Nishtar Park sports complex and the restaurants and businesses located in its vicinity will be closed from October 26 to 29.
Meanwhile speaking to the media at the cabinet press briefing today, Minister of Sports Dayasiri Jayasekara assured the public that the state of Pakistan will provide the Sri Lankan cricket team with the best possible security for their T20 match that will be played in Lahore.
