
Minister of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine Rajitha Senaratne extended an invitation to the global community to witness the rehabilitation steps taken by Lankan authorities for patients plagued with mental illnesses.
The Minister of Health extended this invitation while addressing the WHO Global Conference on Noncommunicable diseases in Montevideo, Uruguay.
The WHO Global Conference on Noncommunicable diseases was held under the patronage of the government of Uruguay and Director General of the WHO Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus at Montevideo.
The conference was attended by 5 heads of state and 18 Health ministers from across the globe.
The attendees lauded the steps taken by Sri Lanka to strengthen the mental health sector within the country while Minister Rajitha Senaratne extended an open invitation to all nations to visit Sri Lanka to witness the steps taken by the Lankan health sector.
