
The National Dangerous Drugs Control Board (NDDCB), reports that the number of heroin users in Sri Lanka has increased by 63 percent within the past eight months of the calendar year.
The NDDCB also reported that a 34 percent increase of Hash, tobacco, hallucinogens and other illicit substance abusers have been recorded from January to August 2017.
It was also reported that 3200 persons were arrested over charges of substance abuse between January to August 2017.
