Student expelled for suspected pregnancy: Education Minister recommends new admission

Minister of Education Akila Viraj Kariyawasam advised government officials to make arrangements to provide admission to the young girl from the Matugama Sri Rewatha College who was expelled for a suspected pregnancy to a National School following her discharge from hospital.
The Minister instructed officials to admit the student to a new school according to the requirements of her parents and her educational needs.
It was also requested to find a suitable boarding school to better ease the economic hardships faced by the student and her family.
The principal who was responsible for the expulsion of the young girl has been suspended from her administrative post.
