Govt should take responsibility of fuel shortage scare - GEU

Secretary of the CPC General Employees’ Union (GEU) D.J.Rajakaruna stated that the government should take responsibility of the petrol shortage scare that alarmed motorists across Sri Lanka.
He stated that the government should take steps to have adequate oil reserves within the country at all times. It was also pointed out that the government is heavily influenced by the IOC.
D.J.Rajakaruna also stated that the Prime Minister prevented the acquiring of oil reserves in Trincomalee even though the cabinet had approved the proposal.
