It was announced today that the National Building Tax will be imposed on liquor from April 01, 2018.
Minister Mangala Samarweera stated that 49 percent of liquor consumption within Sri Lanka is illicit. He also stated that a production tax will be imposed on sugary drinks at 50 cents per gram effective from midnight today.
