Two students have been injured, one of them critically, following a stabbing incident at a school in the Kosgoda area this morning (27).
Police said that the stabbing was carried out by a Grade 10 student of the same school.
The student in question had reportedly initially stabbed a student, who he has had a past argument with, using a sharp object at school this morning and when another student had attempted to intervene, the suspect had also attacked that student.
Both injured students have been admitted to the Balapitiya Hospital for treatment while hospital sources say that one of the students is in critical condition.
The student who carried out the attack has been arrested by Kosgoda Police and is to be produced at the Balapitiya Magistrate’s Court.
