
Employees of Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) main depot in Vavuniya staged a strike action today (28) demanding the transfer of the Northern Regional Manager of SLTB.
All SLTB buses in the Vauniya terminal were withdrawn from the Depot ceasing transportation while causing severe inconvenience to rural citizens and school children, Ada Derana Correspondent reported.
The employees of SLTB Vavuniya Depot had also commenced a strike action on Saturday, (November 18) opposing the service transfers given to SLTB employees based on alleged political influences.
Meanwhile the strike action was also launched in opposition of the arbitrary behavior of Northern Regional Manager of SLTB.
The employees of the Kilinochchi and Mullaitivu SLTB Depots handed over two petitions to Northern Province Transport Minister demanding the transfer of Northern Regional Manager of SLTB.
