Protest causes traffic jam at Battaramulla junction

Heavy traffic has been reported at the Battaramulla junction and the surrounding area due to a protest march in front of the Ministry of Education. 

 

Reports confirm that the protest march has been organized by the Ceylon Teachers’ Service Union (CTSU) and was staged by CTSU members against the lack of monetary allowances provided to teaching staff. 

 

Motorists have been advised to use alternate routes bypassing the area to avoid traffic congestions.
