The Election Commission has requested the public to notify the relevant District Returning Officers on or before the 5th of December, if names of potential voters are not included in the 2017 Electoral Register.
Election Commissioner Mahinda Deshapriya stated that Returning Officers have already taken actions to display notices in this regard in all Local Government institutions.
The revised 2017 Electoral Register compiled by respective District Returning Officers for the conduct of the LG Election for 93 local authorities has been displayed at all Local Government Bodies and it will be used for the upcoming LG polls.
The names of all registered voters under the 2017 register have been included in the revised list, the Commission added.
The district electoral registers have been put up on display at all District Election offices, Divisional Secretariats, Local Government bodies, Grama Niladari offices and at several government institutions,the Commission said.
