A hardware store situated on the Vavuniya-Mannar main road at Veppankulam was completely destroyed by a fire that broke out on December 1.
The store and its warehouse were completely incinerated by the flames.
The fire department was able to contain the inferno preventing it from spreading to neighboring shops.
The Vavuniya police has launched an investigation into the incident.
