Compensation provided by Ministry of Home Affairs to families of deceased fishermen

Minister of Home Affiars Vajira Abeywardena presented the families of three fishermen who lost their lives due to the inclement weather conditions with a sum of Rs.100,000 each as compensation.  

 

Additionally the government has decided to provide one of the family’s with Rs.1,000,000 as reparation. 

 

Minister Abeywardena stated that an advance payment of Rs.100,000 was provided to conduct the funeral ceremony of the deceased fisherman. 

 

The Minister visited the families of the deceased as a gesture of goodwill yesterday (1).
