Provincial journalist assaulted in Jaffna

Two persons brutally assaulted a provincial journalist from a radio station at Chavakachceriya in Jaffna yesterday (02).
Chavakachcheriya police personnel stated that the journalist was assaulted by two individuals travelling in a three-wheeler.
The journalist who was being relentlessly assaulted sought refuge at a local temple in an attempt to flee from his attackers. Two workmen from the temple had chased away the assailants and handed over the man to the police.
Police officials have stated that an investigation will be conducted into the incident.
