Over 12kg of cannabis found in luxury bus, 2 held

Police recovered over 12 kilogrammes of cannabis being transported in a luxury bus from Point Pedro, Jaffna to Kurunegala and arrested two suspects.

 

The discovery was made during a search carried out by officers attached to Killinochchi Police, based on information received, during routine traffic inspections in Palai yesterday.

 

The two arrested suspects were produced before Killinochchi District Judge A. Anandarajah.

 

The driver of the luxury bus was released due to him giving justifiable cause for his innocence while the other suspect was ordered remanded until December 21.

 

Killinochchi Police is carrying out further investigations.
