Suspect detained for dishonesty and fraud in Vavuniya

A suspect was detained in Vavuniya for fraud and illegally obtaining funds from people through a fraudulent corporation named ‘Lanka Pharmacy and Peiris’ earlier today (19).
The suspect had obtained a 10 percent down payment from residents of Vauniya, Kilinochchi and Mannar stating that his corporation will provide livestock, agricultural equipment and financial aid.
A complaint was lodged with the Vavuniya police as the suspect had failed to deliver on the financial benefits promised to the people.
The 38 year old suspect who is a resident of Punthotam will be produced before the Vavuniya Magistrate’s Court today (19).
