
Minister of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine Rajitha Senaratne stated that the prices of medicinal drugs have been raised within Sri Lanka to prevent local importers from incurring losses due to the continuously rising prices of medicine in the global market.
Minister Senaratne made this statement while responding to a question raised by a journalist on the rising prices of medicine in Sri Lanka.
He further stated that the prices were raised in accordance with a request made by local pharmaceutical companies that import medicinal drugs. The prices will be raised by 5 percent the Minister said.
