Boat safari operators protest on Madu Ganga

Several boat safari drivers and workers are engaged in a protest under the Madu Ganga bridge in Balapitiya.
The protest is being carried out demanding an increase in their payment for each boat trip, Ada Derana Reporter said.
They are demanding that the current boat fare of Rs 2,000 per boat ride be increased to Rs 2,500.
He said that the protesting boat operators are blocking the river preventing tourists from entering the area.
