Two persons bathing off the coast of Katuneriya in Marawila drowned after strong currents swept them away from shore.
Police sources stated that the two individuals lost their lives last night (25) while bathing in a dangerous area of the beach.
The deceased persons were identified as a 35 year old and 47 year old both residing in Marawila.
