The Fire department has been able to douse the inferno that rose at a section of the Meethotamulla garbage heap in Kolonnawa.
A fire broke out at the Meethotamulla garbage heap in kolonnawa earlier today (1).
A conjoined effort of the Fire Department, Police and Army was required to contain the fire. Five fire engines were deployed to the scene of the fire.
No casualties were reported in relation to the incident.
