Tense situation at Katunayake Airport as employees protest

UPDATE: (12.51pm) - Protesting airport employees are blocking the entrance to the VIP Lounge at the Katunayake Airport, Ada Derana reporter said.
A tense situation has been reported at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Katunayake due to a protest by a group of employees.
Ada Derana reporter said that a large number of employees are protesting outside the airport over salary issues.
Protesting employees who have also launched a strike action are demanding that airport authorities increase their wages by a minimum of Rs 10,000 and say the administration has failed to provide them a with a positive answer to their demands.
