Four new ministers appointed; full Cabinet reshuffle after New Year

Four new Cabinet Ministers have been appointed temporarily to fill the ministerial portfolios left vacant following the resignation of the several SLFP ministers yesterday.
“The vacant cabinet minister portfolios of the 6 Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) ministers have been filled by 4 ministers temporarily.”
A complete cabinet reshuffle will take place after the Sinhala and Tamil New Year and these appointments are made till that period, the President’s Media Division said.
The ministers appointed today are as follows:
- Sarath Amunugama – Minister of Skills Development and Vocational Training | Minister of Science, Technology and Research
- Ranjith Siyambalapitiya – Minister of Disaster Management
- Faiszer Musthapha – Minister of Sports
- Malik Samarawickrama – Minister of Social Empowerment, Welfare and Kandyan Heritage | Minister of Labour and Trade Union Relations
