Minister of Sustainable Development, Wildlife and Regional Development Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka says that while protecting wildlife, he will also provide protection for the people.
He said this while attending an observation of a captured wild elephant being sedated by wildlife officials at Doraliyadda.
He also said that there is pressure from political higher ups when enforcing the law.
