Fire breaks out at shop in Pettah

A fire broke out at a shop located on Main Street in Pettah this morning (7).
Police said that the fire broke out at around 10.15am today and that the flames also spread to an adjoining shop.
The Fire Brigade had dispatched around 5 fire trucks to the location to help douse the flames.
Ada Derana reporter said that the fire has now been completely extinguished by the CMC Fire Brigade with the assistance of the police.
There have been no casualties from the fire while the property destruction is somewhat minimal.
The cause of the fire and the damages are yet to be ascertained. Pettah Police is conducting an investigation.
