UNP addresses rumors of their involvement in President-Gota assassination plot

If there are any truth to the tales of conspiracy to assassinate President Maithripala Sirisena and former Defense Secretary, the law will be acted upon it immediately, says Deputy Minister Ajith P. Perera.

 

He stated this attending a function held in Colombo yesterday (14).

 

Deputy Minister was also inquired about the alleged involvement of the UNP in the said conspiracy, to which he replied saying that UNP has no need for such thing.

 

If any official has committed an offense, it should be investigated and law should be implemented on them, says the Deputy Minister.

 

He further stated that the law had been implanted against police officers who committed offenses, even previously.
