Mahinda-Modi meeting wasn’t political – G. L. Peiris

It is important to have mutual friendliness and confidence with the other nations and the meeting between Mahinda Rajapaksa and Narendra Modi was an instance to develop that, says the Chairman of SLPP Prof. G. L. Peiris.
The discussions between former President Rajapaksa and Indian Prime Minister Modi were successful, he further said.
He responded to questions raised by the media following his visit to the Chief Prelate of the Ramanna Maha Nikaya Ven. Napane Premasiri Thero, last evening (15).
The meeting between Mahinda Rajapaksa and Narendra Modi wasn’t a political meeting but a personal meeting, says Prof. Peiris.
He further stated that the visit to India was organized for a non-political purpose.
