Two bodies of persons believed to have gone hunting found in cave

Bodies of two persons have been discovered inside a cave in a forest reserve in St. Leonard estate in Ragala, stated the Police.

The bodies are of two males aged 29 and 31, according to the police.

The deceased persons are believed to have gone hunting for porcupines and had attempted to smoke the porcupines out of the cave while they too were still inside the cave.

Ragala Police says that the other employees of the estate had found the bodies inside the cave when they had gone in search for the two youths.

A dog which also had followed the youth in the hunting trip had also been found dead inside the cave.

Ragala Police suspect that the two young men and the dog had been poisoned death by the smoke.

Following the Magistrate’s investigation, the bodies will be sent to Judicial Medical Officer of the Nuwara Eliya Hospital for the post-mortem, said police.
