Special Commission appointed to rectify salary disparities and issues related to salaries in the Public Sector is scheduled to assemble today (17) at 2.30 pm at its office.
The Commission had recently called for proposals from trade unions regarding the rectification of salary disparities and the time period given to submit proposals concluded on September 14.
Submitted proposals are to be discussed at the meeting today.
Commission, comprising 15 members, is preside by Mr. S. Ranugge while Mr. H.G. Sumanasinghe has been appointed as the Secretary.
The Commission assembled on August 27 for the first time and its 6th meeting is scheduled to be held today.
Special Commission was appointed on August 20 for a two-month period and during this time period it will submit proposals to the President for solving the salary issues.
