Gnanasara Thero’s appeal hearing postponed to Oct 05

The appeal filed by Ven. Galagoda Aththe Gnanasara Thero, challenging his 6-year prison sentence, will be taken up for consideration on October 05 before the Supreme Court.
The appeal was taken up before a two-judge bench, comprising Supreme Court Justices Eva Wanasundara and Vijith Malalgoda today (28).
The justices informed that the hearing of the appeal will be taken up before a Trial-at-Bar on October 05, as the composition of today’s judge bench is incomplete for the hearing.
The Attorney General had filed the case against Gnanasara Thero following a complaint submitted to the Appeals Court by the former Homagama Magistrate and current Colombo Chief Magistrate Ranga Dissanayake.
