Due to the low level atmospheric disturbance in the vicinity of Sri Lanka, the prevailing showery condition is expected to continue over the island during next few days, the Meteorology Department said.
Showers or thundershowers will occur in the most parts of the island after 2.00 p.m.
Very heavy rainfall about 150 mm can be expected at some places in the North-western, North-Central, Central and Sabaragamuwa provinces. Heavy rainfall about 100 mm can be expected at some places elsewhere in the island.
Showers or thundershowers may occur at several places in Western, Southern and Northern coastal areas in the morning too.
Misty conditions can be expected at some places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces over the island during the morning.
There may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers, the Met. Department warned.
