Three more suspects have been arrested in connection with shooting a person to death inside a house in Anuruddhagama in Elpitiya.
Police headquarters stated that the suspects were arrested in Miriswatte area, Kahaduwa, based on a tip-off received by the Elpitiya Police.
The arrestees are reportedly residents of Kahaduwa and Elpitiya areas and they are slated to be produced before the Elpitiya Magistrate’s Court today (09).
The 42-year-old homicide victim was shot dead inside a house by a group of individuals in Anuruddhagama area on September 27.
Elpitiya Police had arrested the main suspect of the case on October 7, along with a firearm claimed to have been used to kill the victim.
This suspect was produced before the Elpitiya Magistrate’s Court and remanded until October 22, according to the Police headquarters.
