The Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) will be made a debt-less institute in 2019, says Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation Nimal Siripala de Silva at an event held in the SLTB headquarters.
An event was held this morning (10) to handover 5 buses to the Hatton Depot, which were bought by the income and profits earned by the depot itself.
Minister points out that SLTB had fallen into a deep precipice in terms of generating income.
However, today, SLTB has become a transport unit that is strong in the sense of making an income and that all SLTB employees contributed towards achieving this, said the Minister.
Many significant changes have been made to the SLTB to achieve employee satisfaction by paying off all debts, provident funds and incentives.
