The Department of Meteorology says that the enhancement of afternoon thundershowers to some extent over the Island is expected to continue further, particularly during October 20th and 21st.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at most places over the island particularly after 2.00 p.m.
Showers or thundershowers may occur at several places in Northern, Western, North-western and Eastern coastal areas in the morning too.
Fairly heavy rainfall of about 75mm can be expected at some places, particularly in Central, Uva and Sabaragamuwa provinces, it said.
Sea Area:
Showers or thundershowers will occur at the Eastern sea areas of the island.
Showers or thundershowers may occur at several places in the other sea areas around the island in the evening or night.
Winds will be South-westerly in direction in the sea areas extending from Mannar to Galle via Colombo and winds will be South-westerly or variable in direction in the other sea areas around the island. Wind speed will be 20-30 kmph in the sea areas around the island.
