Twenty-nine year old hacked to death over personal dispute

A person has been hacked to death near Migettuwatta Elders’ Home in Migettuwatta, Balapitiya, stated Ambalangoda Police.

 

The incident had occurred at around 9 pm last night (17) and the victim had succumbed to his injuries upon admittance to the Balapitiya Hospital.

 

This murder had been a result of a personal dispute, according to the Ambalangoda Police.

 

The deceased is a 29-year old named Damith Kumara de Soyza from Sirisena Road, Balapitiya.

 

The body is currently kept in the Balapitiya hospital morgue while the magistrate’s inquest and the post mortem will be conducted today (18).

 

The murder suspect has been identified and Amabalangoda Police is conducting investigations to arrest them.
