A Grade 12 student was allegedly assaulted by a male teacher of a school in Kuliyapitiya has been admitted to the Kuliyapitiya Base Hospital.
The male teacher in question has reportedly entered the student’s classroom and assaulted him in the presence of another teacher and other students until he had fallen unconscious.
According to the victim, he was assaulted for not attending the private tuition classes of the said teacher.
The student was admitted to a private hospital in Kuliyapitiya with the intention of covering up the incident, however, the elder brothers of the student had later admitted him to the Kuliyapitiya Base Hospital.
Commenting further, the victimized student stated that the relevant teacher had coerced him and his classmates to cover up the incident from the media.
