
Hemasiri Fernando has been appointed as the new Chairman of the Board of Investments Sri Lanka (BOI).
President Maithripala Sirisena has made this appointment yesterday (23), stated the Ministry of Development Strategies and International Trade.
Hemasiri Fernando acted as the chairman of People’s Bank before its board of directors was recently dissolved.
Fernando was the Chairman of the National Olympic Committee of Sri Lanka and he is a prominent personality in the civil service.
He held many top posts including those of the Secretary to the Prime Minister Sirimavo Bandaranaike, Chairman of Sri Lanka Telecom Ltd, Secretary to the Ministry of Posts and Chairman Airport and Aviation Authority.
Hemasiri Fernando was educated at Nalanda College, Colombo.
