Suspect arrested with foreign-made firearm in Kosgoda

An individual has been arrested for the possession of a foreign-manufactured firearm, which was found inside his house in Duwemodara area in Kosgoda.
A search operation was carried out at this house, following a tip-off received by the Kosgoda Police last night (25) regarding a heroin racket.
Accordingly, the police had found the firearm hidden under a mattress of the bed along with two live ammunition.
The seized firearm is reportedly a foreign-manufactured Bora-12 rifle.
Kosgoda Police is carrying out further investigations regarding the incident, while the arrested suspect is slated to be produced before the Balapitiya Magistrate’s Court.
