Pillion rider run over by bus dies

A 51-year-old individual has died after a bus ran over him in Diyagama area in Kahathuduwa.
The deceased had been riding on the backseat of a motorcycle when the accident took place, said Ada Derana reporter.
Reportedly, the motorcycle had attempted to overtake a private bus, which had been travelling from Maharagama to Horana, at a place where the road was being repaired. Losing its balance, the motorcycle had then toppled while pillion rider was run over by the bus.
The deceased is reportedly a 51-year-old person residing in the same area.
Kahathuduwa Police has arrested the driver of the bus in connection with the accident and he is slated to be produced before the Kesbewa Magistrate’s Court today (26).
