Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa says that the Joint Opposition will never split and there no crisis within the party.
He made these comments in response to questions raised by reporters following a visit to a temple in Kosgoda.
Asked about the criticism from members of the government that the Joint Opposition is falling apart, Rajapaksa said that there is no such issue.
When asked whether he had cautioned MP Kumara Welgama over the latter’s recent controversial comments criticizing fellow JO members, the former President said that there is nothing to warn him about.
“he should know that he is a senior parliamentarian in our party.” Rajapaksa also said that he does not think that Welgama will breakaway or even say such words.
