S. Amarasekara appointed Secretary to Prime Minister

S. Amarasekara has been appointed as the new Secretary to the Prime Minister, the President’s Media Division said.
He has already assumed duties in the position at the Prime Minister’s Office, a short while ago.
The appointment comes just hours after Mr. Saman Ekanayake was removed from the post of Secretary to the Prime Minister, through a gazette issued by President Maithripala Sirisena.
The government notification stated that Mr E.M.S.B. Ekanayake, who was appointed Secretary to the Prime Minister, by virtue of powers vested in the President under Article 51(1) of the Constitution of Sri Lanka, was removed from the post by the President.
