President to address nation tomorrow; new Cabinet on Monday

President Maithripala Sirisena will address the nation tomorrow (28) morning, MP Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena said.

 

He also said that the President will appoint a new Cabinet of Ministers on Monday (29).

 

According to political sources, a small Cabinet is expected to be named by the President.

 

The president is expected to speak on the topic of the prevailing political situation in the country, in the wake of yesterday’s sudden removal of Ranil Wickremesinghe and subsequent appointment of Mahinda Rajapaksa as the Prime Minister of Sri Lanka.

 

He will reportedly also brief the masses on the future course of action of the new government.
