The Department of Excise has apprehended an individual, who had been transporting nearly 1 kg of heroin in the Kurana area in Negombo.
The arrest was made during a raid carried out by a group of officers of the narcotics division of the Excise Department.
The haul is estimated to be worth nearly Rs 10 million, Superintendent of Excise S.K. Wanithunga stated.
