The showery weather condition is expected to enhance over the island from 05th November due to the low pressure area developing in the south-east Bay of Bengal sea area, the Meteorology Department said.
The department today issued a special advisory over the possibility for formation of a tropical depression.
A low Pressure area is likely to develop over south-east Bay of Bengal sea area next few days with the possibility of it moving towards Sri Lanka while deepening later.
The general public, naval and fishing communities are requested to be attentive about advisories issued by the Department of Meteorology in this regard further.
Wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph gusting to 50 kmph is very likely over the above mentioned sea areas during 04th November while the sea condition would become moderate to fairly rough from that day, it said.
Fishermen are advised not to venture into deep sea areas of south-eastern and eastern sea areas to the island during next few days.
The fishermen out at deep sea are advised to vigilant in this regard, the advisory said.
